We got it from the name of a friends real estate agent. It's her fn, so I automatically associated it with a person before the brand name.

I'm not a fan. It just seems so materialistic to name a child after a perfume brand. To me, it's in the same vein as using Armani as a first name, the only difference being that Chanel is more established. (Needless to say, I find Armani pretty tasteless.)
I don't know whether you intend people to think of the perfume, but they always will.

I don't care for it. It doesn't have a name quality to it. It just doesn't feel like a name to me.

It's a brand of clothing, perfume, etc. If used on a person, it sounds too much like a stripper imo. Sorry.
