Re: Jude, Judas, or Judah
in reply to a message by Eliza
Jude, naturally. It's fashionable (in some circles anyway) .. thanks especially to Jude Law, but the name's time has simply come, regardless.Judah and Judas are staid and musty conservative old men from the Old Testament of the Bible. (how it feels when I consider using it myself)On the other hand, as far as your children are concerned .. Biblical names do bask a bit in the heroic glow and mainstream approval of their origin; and if that's how you see it, I think Judas or Judah sounds fine. But he's bound to prefer to be called Jude in almost every context, because that's the form that feels current, fresh and "young" to folks right now, imo.- chazdaedited out unnecessary blather
