Ruxandra is gorgeous! I love it, it's elegant and exotic. Plus, I quite like Romanian names : )
I actually went to school with a girl named Rukshana who went by Roxy.
I think it could work in the U.S. People may initially confuse it with Alexandra or Roxana, but I think that the pronunciation issues could be worked out.
I think I would be inclined towards the nicknamed Roxy and Xandra (if I even used a nickname at all).
I'm tempted towards Ruxandra Zelda just for fun.
Ruxandra Anouk
Ruxandra Azura
Ruxandra Evening (I know you won't give up Evening as a first name, but I like the sound of this anyway)
Ruxandra Fey
Ruxandra Indira
Ruxandra Jacinthe
Ruxandra Jean (For Sara)
Ruxandra Juniper (Just because I have to)
Ruxandra Lenore
Ruxandra Moon
Ruxandra Phoebe
Ruxandra Song
Ruxandra Sonnet
Ruxandra Terese (For your mum of course)
Ruxandra Topaz
Ruxandra True
Ruxandra Zelda
