I have three dds and with our youngest, Anna, my dh and I like to call her Annie but I can't picture and don't like anyone else doing so. One reason is that when we had our first dd, Katherine, everyone called her Katie until she decided she wanted to be called the more grown up Kate. It hasn't been easy for some family members to switch. OTOH, I have a nephew Steven who was called Stevie until he was 12 and then he decided he wanted to be called Steve. it seemed pretty easy at the time.
What I'm getting at is that you could call him Tommy. It could be your special nn for him while everyone else calls him Thomas. BTW, I love Charlotte and Thomas as a sibset!
