Lyndon is my granfather and my aunt's middle name. My grandfather doesn't like the association with LBJ either, but I actually rather like the name Lyndon. I wouldn't worry about the LBJ association if I were you, if you like it that much then use it : )
I prefer the look of Lyndon over Linden. I think that Linden works better on a boy than a girl.
