Historical Note
According to the book Scottish Christian Names by Leslie Alan Dunkling (1978), in Scotland prior to the 20th century, it was a common misconception that Peter was a nickname for Patrick, due to the Gaelic spelling of Patrick (Patair/Padair). So, you could have compromised on Patrick nickname Peter (or Patair)
