Well, Laurine was a given, since I was supposed to have it anyway, and my maternal grandmother passed away when I was 5-years-old. So, also some way to have a connection to her. Her full first name was Anna Laurine. Astrid is my favorite Norse name, and it's a way to show my Nordic heritage in between two names that have mainly French and English roots.
I already knew that I wanted that whole combo for several years before I even got around to make it happened. I was really nervous as I applied, but when it was all said and done, the elation I felt when had accomplished it was the best. Then I started to practice my brand-new signature for when I need to write my whole name on some public document by hand.
I don't know, for you, just pick a name that you know you'll love forever, write down the potential new names with your existing ones (if several options for a new middle name), look at them, say them out loud, and whatever makes you the happiest both look, feel, whether it flows or not, and such, then that's the one you should pick. I mean, I also had Ingrid lined up instead of Astrid, but that one never flowed well in my language when going from Laurine to Ingrid (awkward for my mouth to enunciate), and I knew I'd never be happy with that, so. It did with Astrid, so I picked that one.

The parents of actor siblings John and Joan Cusack?
I guess they didn't know they named their kids the very same name.
Then again, how did they not even know, or was told, this fact?
