When she was about 3, we were shopping and she sat where kiddies sit, on the trolley shelf. Queueing, busy day, and someone from another queue called out to her "You've got such lovely red hair!". Beatrice had only just learnt the names of colours, and because she wanted to help the nice lady, she said loud and clear "It's owange, akshallee" and made a shop full of tired women very happy indeed.
