I’ve never liked my name because it was so old fashioned and not “cute”. It was the name of a lot of other grandma's and aunts of my generation. Or librarians, sigh. I wanted a more “sexy” name when I was a young woman. It is a strong name but it sounds harsh, especially when someone is annoyed with you. After all these years I still don’t like it, but I am resigned to it. I notice old fashioned names are coming back, so perhaps one day people will be naming their babies Margaret?
