Re: Favourite French Names
Camille is my middle name, and if I ever have a daughter, it'll be her middle name. We pronounce it the French way, and for that reason alone it'll never be a fn option, I find it very pretty but I do think if I had to be called 'Ka-MILL' all the time here in the UK it would drag, and a lot of English-speakers find it hard to say, at least at first. From your list, I like Caroline - prettier the French way, but good old UK Caroline is a staple and another mn option if I had more than one daughter, Constance, again, like both UK and French pronunciations although the UK is far more dated, Lucille, Lucienne, Madeleine, Olive, Rosalie, Sylvie.I also like Emmanuel, Hugo and Vincent.Others I like:Athénaïs - So extra, but I think it sounds very pretty. I don't think it's useable outside of mn/GP though.
Clémence
Clémentine
Coralie - Although this feels a little dull to me now
Delphine
Emmanuelle - This is growing on me as a MN.
Faustine
Florence - French prn is prettier
Geneviève
Laure
Léonie
Léontine
Léopoldine
Ludivine
Lydie
Magali
Marcelline
Margaux - not a fan of the spelling Margot.
Marguerite
Mélisande - really cool and so, so, so much nicer than Millicent.
Sabine
Victoire / Victorine
Vivienne - more elegant than Vivian
Zénaïde
Zéphyrine
