Heather is on its way to becoming dated in the US (it might already be in the UK), but I've always liked it. Even among the other popular names of its heyday (Jennifer, Angela, Melissa, Kimberly, Lisa, Stephanie, Tiffany, etc.), it sounds fairly unique. I credit this to the middle Voiced Dental Fricative (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voiced_dental_fricative).
I found it somewhat amusing when I discovered my name (Erica) meant "heather" in Latin, but only my spelling.
