Re: Top 10 for September

Yes, it is the first day of Spring, but it feels pretty wintry still. Some high schools have a Spring Day, when the learners can all wear ordinary clothes instead of their uniforms. They pay a small amount for the privilege, which goes to school funds, and usually dress to impress! That's at the majority of schools, which are co-educational (boys and girls); one year I was at a boys-only school and the contrast was delightful: the boys turned up in old t-shirts, comfy phys-ed shorts and last year's flip-flops. I loved them! And the naughtiest year - Grade 9, for 14-15 year olds - were going on an educational outing later that day, and had to be properly dressed in their formal best: long grey flannel trousers, white shirts, school blazer and tie, shoes polished ... they really stood out, in a way they weren't accustomed to.
I don't really do Favourite Names lists: these are a mixture of family and other honouring names and ones that I like anyway. I've omitted every name I've used IRL.
