Semantics. Wild pansy and garden pansy are both technically violas but both commonly called pansies, anyway. Most people are more familiar with the cultivated kind, but that's true of lots of flowers, including roses.~ song of the week: "Apple Tree" by AURORA ~

Huh, you do educate me. I've never heard those called pansies. Those are johnny-jump-ups to me. My mom called them that. I have some in a pot outside right now. Pansies were always the big ones with the amazing colors and contrasts (which I really like).
