Bronte
in reply to a message by Janan
I must confess that I am oblivious of the poet, I’ll look him up.That said I don’t see how using the name or nickname Rumi is disrespectful. Would it be considered disrespectful as well to use name your daughter Bronte?I’m not trying to argue, but I’m curious.According to the submitted information I’ve found Rumi is a Japanese name: https://www.behindthename.com/name/rumi/submitted

Using it as a Japanese name, if you're Japanese, is fine.Bronte is ugly sounding but it's not cultural appropriation.https://gal-dem.com/rumi-whitewashing-representation-open-letter-david-franzoni-stephen-joel-brown/
