Re: WDYT of Ada?

WDYT of Ada?
- I love it! My maternal great-great-grandmother (I think that’s right!) was named Ada Florence and I LOVE that combo, it’s my fave Ada combo. Then my paternal great-grandmother was Ada Grace, which is also beautiful. So it’s used on both sides of the family tree and definitely a name I would consider using one day.Do you prefer Adelaide with Ada as an occasional nickname or Ada as a standalone name?
- I think Adelaide is gorgeous too, so I prefer them as two separate names, giving each the love it deserves.Do you think Ada would always get confused with Ava, especially on a child born in the next 5-7 years? And do you think that would be a problem? By 'problem', I mean burdensome to constantly correct or any other perceived problem you might think of.
- No, I think people would get used to it quickly, because of its closeness to Ava. People have thought my DD’s name is Edith, instead of Eden, because that’s just what they think they hear! That’s happened a few times, but you just correct them and move on.What do you think of Adelaide Mary Jann or Adelaide Jann Mary, with both Jann and Mary being honoring? Which one do you prefer?
- Adelaide Mary Jann flows better, though I’m not super keen on Jann. -WDYT of Adelaide Claire Annette or Adelaide Annette Claire? Annette and Claire are also honoring. Which do you prefer?
- Adelaide Claire Annette definitely flows better out of the two combos, though again, not a huge fan of it in general.Sarah -
