The Harry Potter books are very popular in Sweden too.
But nobody mentions Voldemort when somebody considers Valdemar.
I suppose b/c Valdemar is a well known old name here. Obviously it would be otherwise in USA and other countries where people are unfamiliar with the name Valdemar.
