This association would be much more likely to be automatic in most of England and in Australia where the non-rhotic accent means that Vader and Vada are basically pronounced the same. In rhotic accents like those found in most of the USA, Canada, and Scotland, that association wouldn't be found as often (though I'm sure a few would still make it.)
