Re: Millicent

I'm not wild about it. I don't like the hiss that the 'c' makes in the middle of the name.
I don't really like any long forms of "Millie" - maybe because I spent my life saying, "no, my name isn't Amelia / Camille / Millicent / Mildred / Emilie -- it's JUST MILLIE!"
My little sister used to call me this jokingly, she's Ellie but we went through a stage of elongating our names since the names we were given were already nicknames.
Sometimes I wish(ed) I had a long more formal name on my birth certificate but now I'm in my 20s and I can look back and say that I didn't achieve anything less or more because of my name. I got complimented on it a lot when I was younger.
