Re: Local BAs

A few thoughts.
Cosette -- I've been seeing this name around a lot. Wonder if it's going to become the next big trend (that wouldn't entirely be a bad thing, imo -- Cosette is a really nice name!).
Maverik -- this is a chain of gas stations around here, same exact spelling. This kid is essentially named after a gas station. It's cringeworthy.
Avett -- makes me think of the band 'The Avett Brothers.' Not a bad name, even though I'm not a fan of this "surname as first name" thing.
Blake Ryan -- I'm all for the "boys' names on girls" thing (my name is that way and so is my mom's [well, her legal FN is feminine but she goes by a masc NN]), but this is a bit too much even for me. Both the FN and MN are really masculine. Blake with a more feminine MN would have been nice.
Augustus -- ancient Roman names usually seem over the top, but Augustus is one of those that really works. Gus would be a cute NN.
Jasper -- I used to really like this name until it became overly trendy. It's still nice, though.
