I think that it would be a pain in the neck and that most people wouldn't get it at all. I like both Sally and Sara (this spelling). I think if I wanted to use Sally I'd just choose it as the full name. Sarah nn Sally is kind of cute and classic but non-namenerds would have troubles with it.
