Veruca as a name is probably inspired by the character from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I wouldn't exactly consider her namesake material since she's a spoiled brat.

my bad ...I just assumed it was a Britishism because the only place I've ever read/heard it used was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and a few other British books.So Verruca Salt could just as easily have been Compound W. lol
