Re: Middle Names for Alyssa
in reply to a message by CJ
I like Alyssa!
I like a lot of these middle names you've mentioned (just not Evangeline really, but whatever). Hard to choose favorites - the difference a third middle name makes is really subtle.
Favorites:
Alyssa E. Eve. I like the repeated sound and think it would flow well with a surname, to have the tidy single syllable third name.
Alyssa E. Elaine - again, nice rhythm with repeated sounds without being rhymey. Evangeline Elaine almost flows right together, and sounds very sharp and neat next to softer, more natural-ish Alyssa.
Alyssa E. Skye - sounds sort of lofty and flowy, and the shortness of the third name is good.
Alyssa E. Claire - sharp
Alyssa E. Teyla - just because it's interesting. I think it would be fun to have the unique name there, to temper the slightly supercilious Evangeline.
Least favorites as the third middle for A. E. :
Elyse, because it repeats Alyssa.
Felicity and Faith, because both they and Evangeline have religious connotations, and using two such names on one child seems to make too big a deal of that.
Paige, Pearl, Odette, Piper - because I just don't like the way they feel in this combo. Sort of like they're hipster ballast weighing down an otherwise pretty name.
Kaitlyn Alexandra Summer, Kaitlyn Alexandra Aimee
