I've heard the Hebrew is Le'ah, therefore there is a tiny pause in the middle and it is more like Lay-uh. But, I don't know much about Hebrew.

You're probably right. I was just annoyed by this couple who went to the trouble of pronouncing Leah thusly while their other dd, Ariel, was just AIR-ee-el rather than the Hebrew AR-ee-el. I mean, if they went to the trouble to get Leah correct, they should have at least made the effort with Ariel (spelled it Arielle at the very least). It just makes sense to me, lol.
