Prefer Jillian!

Unfortunately the name Jillian only "popped" for me when a woman called Jillian Meagher was murdered in Melbourne recently :(. But Jillian is just.. so lovely though! It's like water trickling in a brook.
I, like, you, never liked Lily. Those two L's so close to each other are extremely awkward. The extra syllable of Lillian helps balance it out a bit (I think that any awkward sound can be eased by adding extra syllables - Cecile is fixed by Cecilia, Elle is fixed by Ellen). However, my boyfriend has an ancestor called Lillian nn Lillie, and I have to admit I was darn near won over by that spelling.

I also prefer Jillian, but I do like Lillian and Lily. I personally prefer the spelling Lily over Lillie.
For Jillian I like the nn's Jill, Jilly, and Jilly Bean. I use to dislike the name Jillian as a kid but I really liked Lillian then in middle school I became fairly bored with Lillian but I started to like the name Jillian after seeing the movie Practical Magic.
