Re: Dinah
I had a beautiful tabby alley-cat called Alice, and when we took over a pitch-black rescue kitten I named her Dinah. It seemed suitable.I think it's purrfectly usable on a human; very nice, in fact. I once knew an English woman who was known as Dee, but it turned out that she was actually a Dinah and had been called Di by one and all until she read Kafka and decided that initials were more cool. So everyone always called her Dee. In her place, I'd have held out for the full name.
