I find it likable. It's not a fave, but I do find it likable... Have never thought of it as a nn for anything.
Noreen stands on its own... and feels a lot younger than
Nora.
Nora makes me think of my great aunt who would likely be in her 90s or older now if she were still living. (not sure if she was older or younger than Grandad). I know some people have started using
Nora again (incl. a couple old college mates w/ their daughters), but it still feels like an old lady name to me.
Noreen feels much younger.
