I've never really cared for
Zara. It sounds like someone using Sara(h) but being pretentious about it. That's odd, because I usually love pretentious sounding names. I get the same reaction to
Zofia for
Sophia, even though I know that's a legitimate variant.
Zara has just never found a way into my heart. I do love
Zora,
Zola and
Zillah, and
Mara -- just not
Zara. :-/
That said, I can still appreciate a nice combination.
Zara Estelle and
Zara Constanza are my favorites. The only one that doesn't flow well is
Zara Aurora. Too many "r" sounds too close together. I can't say it out loud without sounding like a dog barking.
My own (feel free to harpoon):
Zara BeatriceZara GenevieveZara Victoria /
VictorineZara DominiqueZara Leonie /
Leontine ("LAY-un-teen")
Zara VivienZara Clothilde ("clo-TEELD")
Zara EvelynZara Magdalene ("-len")
Zara CamilleZara PenelopeZara Noemi ("no-AY-mee")
Zara MelisandeZara CalantheZara Belen ("bel-EN")
Zara Demetria
What would you say to Zelie, with an accent going up over the first "e?" (I told you I was pretentious.) It's pronounced, "ZAY-lee." Some sites have it as a shortened form of Zeline / Zelina; others have it as a form of Azalia; others say it's from
Sollemnia. All I can say is I find it fascinating and though you might like it as well.
