I feel kind of compelled to reply, because this is my name. :) I love having
Nina as a name, pretty much for all the reasons the posters before me said-it's bright and fun, but also very mature. (It's also easy for me to spell, haha :P) And I don't know why, but there have been times when I wished it was a nickname for a longer name-I would personally like it as a nn for
Antonia or
Celestina. (I think it could work.)
But if you would use
Nina as a given name, I think it should be paired with a longer, more formal middle name, in order to balance it out, such as
Elizabeth or
Virginia. (Incidentally, these were middle names my mom considered for me-both family names.)
