It is a bit fancy, but it's loads of fun and I like it. And Tolly is very cuddly and user-friendly. And I don't really think it's any more pretentious, when you think about it, than calling your kid Julius or Solomon or Maximilian or Alexander - just more unusual. Pretentious = calling your kid Messiah.
