I know someone who named their kid Thatcher. His nickname is T-man.
Personally I feel the name is overly surnamey, and almost tries too hard to seem old-fashioned, sort of like the name Rexford.
I prefer Fletcher, which has a similar sound and surname origins, yet isn't terribly common but seems a little more established in my mind.
