Bullies just love such names with bad spellings.

Bullies are brainless, cruel people who just love to, well, torture people.

Most name bullying/name jokes I've seen has only to do with sound, not spelling.
And why is Sile a bad spelling?

To a non-Irish speaker like most people, Sile looks nothing like Sheila, and reminds me of silo.

If bullies are brainless, how would they know the proper spelling of a name anyway?
I've never heard of anyone actually being teased about their name.

I haven't either. I think people only say that a name will be teased, because their own reaction is hostile. What other evidence could they possibly have?

I've been teased.A lot, actually. My name is used quite often for place names and everyone gets a big kick out of it. Drives me batty but I've learned to live with it. I even wore my Hoagie Haven t-shirt until it wore out.My brother-in-law Damian was also teased a bit for his name but he, too, learned to take it in good humor.

But maliciously?Enthrophy's talking about bullies. People teasing specifically to hurt the other person.I tease my friends. Sometimes I tease them about their names, but I don't count that because the intent isn't malicious and they know it.

I've been maliciously teased, yes.But as it has been said before: Certain kids are going to be teased no matter what and others won't. It could get malicious at some point - I would have hated to be a Monica during the Monica Lewinksy debacle - but overall? No.But there is teasing about names. Even if it's not malicious it can get tiring, believe me.

What? Who is talking about 'bullies'?

My errorThe "torture" comment. I am a confused case of namenerd with a problem of severe brutal honesty about realm of bad names ,like Sile and bullies.
