My mom is a Kelly and she was named in the 60's, far before the huge 70's trend. She was going to be named Kelly whether she came out a girl or a boy. Also, she is the furthest from a bimbo that you can imagine. She is a teacher and is very intelligent. I can see how someone could get the bimbo image from the name though.
