I understandIf Rachel had taken the time to read any of the responses, she would have seen that half of the comments just said "I hate Alivia. Olivia is so much better." even though that wasn't the question. As for the question, I like Athena. It's a very distinct name and it fits with Kierson Marie (even though I don't like Kierson). To me, the th isn't that hard to say at all. No one has a problem with it in Elizabeth or Theodora.

If you had taken the time to read both the original posts,Then maybe you'd see that they say the exact same thing and jewell didn't specifically ask for an opinion on Athena in either post. They both say:"i love both but athena is my favorite. my family says that athena is hard to say (the th) and they love alivia. i can not make up my mind!! we are using Keirson Marie as the middle name- will not change even though it doesnt flow well, they are family names after all..... i just want a strong first name that in person and on paper gives a good image. thanks for the help."She doesn't say "What do you think of Athena?", so how am I to know that's what she wants? She posted the same thing twice. I know everyone said they prefer Olivia. But what does that have to do with their opinion on Athena? Nothing. ...Athena's fine. It's not my style, but it's fine. It would be nice to see on a child.

She was asking for opinions on which one people liked. Because everyone ignore Athena and she wants a more substantial response, she is allowed to ask again. People are allowed to bring up the same name more than once because there may be different people and different opinions the second time around and as long as it's not several times a day, I don't see what your problem is.

She posted the EXACT SAME THING is the problem.WHY is that so difficult to understand? Asking the EXACT SAME THING is a waste of time. If she had reworded it, it would've been fine. But it was THE SAME QUESTION (was it even a question?), even if it had a somewhat different intent.Talking about the same name twice in a short amount of time is also bad.

If a question isn't answered in a satisfactory way the first time, then why can't it be asked again? Maybe that wording was just best for what needed to be said. This question should be treated like any other. If you have something helpful to say, say it. If you don't like it or have anything useful to say, move on and ignore it.

no it can'tEven if she had gotten no respinses at all, it's discouraged to post the same question twice in a limited amount of time, unless maybe there's a specific reason, such as a massive thread taking all the board space right afterwards. And, as far as I can see, Jewell got plenty of feedback on Athena as well, not just responses about Alivia. And, if you dislike this kind of reaction, why don't you just not read it and move on? It's odd how this never works both ways.

It's not the "same question"She posted the same exact thing twice (exact same wording both times), but somehow expected everyone to think it was a different question. Okay, this thread, she wants to know what people think of Athena, BUT SHE DIDN'T SAY THAT IN HER POST. She just said what she said before. "I cannot make up my mind between Alivia and Athena". And she got PLENTY of responses before on Alivia vs Athena. So I linked back to that. And apparently this is an issue to you. If you don't have anything useful to say, move on.
Jewell- next time, if you want a specific kind of answer, type a question that will get you that answer. If you want to know what people think of Athena, say "What do you think of Athena?" not "I can't decide between Alivia and Athena" because then people are going to just tell you which they like better.
