My boyfriend says that with some virtue names, you're just asking for trouble, meaning that, little serenity could be the most tempestuous, easily exciteable/angered daughter in the world.
As far as the name, it's not bad I guess. I don't know if I'd want that name, as others will undoubtedly comment on it over and over again. A nn possibility is Serena.
