Re: Georgiana

jor-JAY-nuh makes no sense given the spelling, and doesn't tally with other historical fiction works I've seen where the name has been used. I wonder what research led them to that pronunciation?
I love Georgiana, but only pronounced jor-jee-AH-nuh.

Apparently the Cavendish family spoke with a "Devonshire drawl" which pronounced the name Georgiana differently.

i read somewhere that jor-JAY-nah is the original pronunciation. it doesn't make that much sense but i think it's true and i like that pronunciation best. many pronunciations don't make sense. just think about nevaeh as nuh-VAY-ah eeeekk
