Re: Merari/Michal

Merari's a new one for me - looks gorgeous but their is that Ferrari worry, and it looks like a girl's name.
(I'm a big fan of the similar Miriam, Mireille, Mirela, Mirella).
I have always loved Michal, and it's so underused. So many of those dated Micheles/Michelles and modern Mikaylas could benefit from being called instead by this stunning name of King David's daughter.
It is, however, properly pronounced with the gutteral Hebrew ch sound - something like the ch in the Scottish loch. It's often difficult for the average person to achieve that unfamiliar sound.
To lessen the likelihood of it being mistaken for a male name perhaps a short female mn could follow in a Michal's signature - say, Michal Jane, Michal Eva - that sort of idea.

I was planning on Merari for a girl, so no worries with the looking like a girl's name!
I also adore Miriam, Mireille, etc.
