A strictly local issue.
In the province of Quebec(Canada), the name Yvette is sometimes used to mean a quiet, subserviant, no-opinions-of-her-own woman. As"She's such an Yvette!"
This has on occasion had political repercussions, as women precieved to be Yvettes didn't like being put in such a box, and rose up and voted as a block.
