I've heard it pronounced as THEE-ah more often, but I've also heard it as TAY-ah (there's a Canadian actress named Thea Gill who prn. her name this way). But the TAY-ah prn. is a little more confusing to me. I think the THEE-ah prn. is more straightforward and I actually prefer the sound anyway.
