Mavourneen! I've suggested Mavourneen before as a whimsical mn. It does have a gorgeous sound and a sweet meaning. But I can't see it as a fn for a person. It would make a great fn for a pet.
Cathal is terrific. Since you're not Irish, may I point out one thing about it? The "t" is silent. It's pronounced, "CA (as in cat) - hill." You probably already know that, but I just wanted to make sure.
