How is ka-ra and CAH-RAH different? Unless you mean kare-a (more /r/ sound) and kah-rah/cah-rah?
Just reading a post further down:
All Kara's and Cara's I have known they have all been car-a / kar-a or however to try phonetically transcribe it. blah! I think the kare-a is more American because they are more likely to pronounce the /r/ and so changes it.
Anyway - I don't like the kare-a pronounciation and I am now lost at how you are going to pronounce it. If Siri is right then your pronounciation goes with Kara, I think. And my Pronounciation matches with Cara.
I prefer Cara spelling anyway.
I like Kara/Cara Joanne.
