It only makes me think of John Lennon. I don't get the two confused but I've noticed that Americans pronounce Lennon and Lenin the same way, my husband can't tell a difference, but our English friends don't.
I'm a big John Lennon fan, but I would never use Lennon as a name, I guess because it is too much him. Possibly as a MN.
