My eldest dd's mn is Nicole (dh chose that). I don't think there are that many Nicole's being born these days. Between the two spellings, I do prefer Nicole because Nichole just looks wrong and makes me think 'hole.'

I *love* Nicolina. It would be much more distinctive than Nicole, imo. Nicolette is pretty too although I have read on other name sites how this reminds people of Nicorette (smoker's gum). WDYT of Nicoletta or Nikoleta (Greek version)? Another version is Nicola.
