what do you think of the name?
This is my resting spot
I can let myself breathe

But at least I am free

I like it. It is my German aunt's name. :-)

Stunning. You should use it for a little girl. :-)
I think it's very beautiful and elegant. I prefer it to Giselle, actually - though Gisèle (zhee-ZEL-ee) is my ultimate favourite form of this name.
Gisela and Giselle have nameday today
in Sweden. I like them both. I pronounce Gisela with a hard G and Giselle with a G like Zh.
If you don't like Gisela enough to use as fn, you could use it as mn. Much more interesting than Grace, Rose, Elizabeth etc. Or maybe Giselle if it flows better.

You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams."

Today is the name day?
Ha! I didnt even notice!
I wouldnt use Gisela. Not even in the middle name spot.
In my religion we name outr kids after someone who meant a lot to the parents, but are deceased (usually family members).
I was named after my moms favorite great-aunt & someone else....I think my dad's grandmother.
I still find the name Gisela beautiful.
If it was used in the 1st name spot, kids would probobly call the girl 'Geezer' or something like that.

I prefer Gisele. But, I'm not too fond of it.
I love it!
I like it. There are two pronunciations I have seen, depending on the location the name is used. Gis-ell-a and Gis-e-la (with a long e, more like the e in 'hey') although the latter is a more foreign pronunciation and I like it better. Both I like, though I would probably never use it for one of my children, too many names I like better.
One of my aunts has Gisela as part of her name. Her full name is Helen Gisela, but she's been known as Penny since birth (her hair was the colour of a new penny - go figure!). She was enrolled at school as Gisela, but she now goes by Helen with everyone except family (where she's still Penny).
Anyway . . .
Gisela is ok, but I prefer a few of the other variations of the name, such as Gisella, Giselle and Ghislaine.
