[Opinions] Re: Mary

When I was a teen I once thought of Mary as dreadfully dull and plain. It just sounded like nothing in my ears. For a couple years, though, now in my 30's, I changed my tune. I heard this passé, old-lady name used on a bright, happy little girl in a movie, and then in another movie with a teen girl, and it's like something suddenly clicked in my head. I saw the innocence and beauty of it, it came off as very sweet and fitting for these characters. After running Mary a couple times through my mind for a while, I finally saw the appeal. It sounds crystal-clear like a bell, but solid like it won't blow away in the wind either.
