It's not a recent trend, it's been around for a while, ie Marilyn.
It's also used to 'feminize' male names to honor male family members. I know a Webblyn. I suspect that's the case of Peterlin.

Yes but they never said it was exclusive to recent times. It has made a resurgence in trends recently. Your response comes off as rude and unwarranted and for what reason?
