I've been tracing the etymology to mean "warrior" (the alternative definition given under Charles), which I prefer greatly. :-)

Of the combos you posted, I think Caroline Zoë and Caroline Ivy are the freshest, whereas Caroline Octavia is the most cosmopolitan.
