Your fake etymology is hilarious - makes me think of all those incidents of lumps of blue ice falling through the roofs of people's houses and being identified as the contents of an aircraft's toilet.
Can't join you in the Muriel club, though I wish I could - I've got two Muriels in my family tree, one born in the 1900s, the other her niece, born in the 1930s I think. But it's not for me: perhaps because I really love Mariel.
