Funny, I met an
Adriana and a female
Julian today.
Adrian seems in the middle of those.
I've never thought it's the greatest name (don't like the meaning), but I don't dislike hearing it IRL.
I don't consider
Adrian exclusively masculine like I would
Adrianus /
Adriano, so it seems passably unisex to me.
Adrienne makes sense to me as feminine, because it's French, and the masculine is
Adrien.
Making it French to distinguish gender does seem unnecessary.
