I like both Elinor and Eleanor. (My favorite spelling is Elanor, though!) I prefer Elinor slightly; maybe just because of how popular Eleanor's gotten. But I think it's a lovely name overall, no matter the spelling.
I do think an Elinor might have to spell her name out quite a bit, but that's not the end of the world. I've got a very common spelling of a very common name (Megan) and I STILL have to spell my name for people all the time. You get used to it.
