Ellery makes me think of the pseudonym Ellery Queen, which was used by two mystery authors. Ellery Queen was also the name of the titular character in a tv show that was similar to Murder, She Wrote but with a young male protagonist.
Although Ellery Queen was male, the name sounds more girlish because of the feminization of similar names like Ashley, Aubrey, and Audrey.
